Happy Friday Everyone! I’m gunna make this one quick – I’ve been going to Porchetta & Co for years now – even though it’s completely out of the way for me. Why? They make the best porchetta sandwiches. What is porchetta? Well, these guys marinate a pork shoulder for 24hrs – the shoulder is wrapped in prosciutto – then wrapped in cured pork belly – then roasted in the oven. What you end up with is crazy tender pieces of porn AND crunchy, crispy, sexy cracking.
It’s $6.45 for a 4oz sandwich of porchetta & cracking – then each topping after that is extra. I like to add truffle sauce ($0.75), parmesan ($0.95) and mustard (free) on my sandwich. Other toppings include rapini ($0.75), extra meat ($2.95), tomatoe sauce ($0.25) etc.
Everything is served fresh on a sourdough bun from Caldense Bakery across the street. It doesn’t look like much, but trust me – they’re ah-mazing! Super moist pieces of pork and crazy mind blowing cracking. This isn’t one of those sandwiches where, yea sure I’ll pick one up if I’m in the area – NO – I make sure I’m in the area. I will trek all the way out to bum f*$% no where to get these. I never have a reason to be in the area but for these sandwiches. They’re worth it.
